Please help?
A local (to me) organization that does really outstanding work for special-needs kitties,
Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc., asked for this message to be passed along to anyone who might be able to help:

CRITICAL- Blind Cat BROOKLYN NY AC 15 years old, owner DIED.

This was taken from their Facebook post, you can read more about the situation there or contact the number/email address listed above. This is such a heartbreaking situation. Several people have offered to help pay for transportation and re-homing expsenses if a home is found in time. Please, please pass along this info.

More info on Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary at their website: http://www.blindcatrescue.com/

I've passed along a link to this post to a few friends of mine in Brooklyn who do cat rescue/TNR type stuff.

I'll also copy this to facebook.

Email from my friend Sue
She says:
I've just spent the past 1.5 hours working the phones and the interwebz to save this kitty boy...looks like we may have found a shelter that can place him in a hospice setting. The woman at ACC I spoke to said that I was like the 10th caller expressing the desire to help him, so that's good.

Not that that's definitive, but it sounds like things are moving in the right direction.

Re: Email from my friend Sue
That is so wonderful, thank you sooo very much for helping get the word out on this poor little guy! The update I received last night said that there was definitely someone who could pull him from the shelter and foster him until a permanent home was secured, and a few people offering to sponsor him and donate funds to cover his medical treatments (he needs antibiotics and dental care)... so it appears that he is going to be saved. :)

Again, thank you so much for for everything, and please tell Sue how awesome she is for all her help. It might've been you guy's help that made the difference between this little fellow dying in fear and confusion at the animal control center, and being able to live out his golden years in safe loving home.

Re: blind cat from facebook
The last update I received said that he was going to be saved, so hopefully he is going to have a happy ending. I will post a final update if I find out what happened, or you can call the animal control center at the number listed above to check on his status. Thank you for caring about this special little kitty. :)
