I have been taking care of a CUTE kitten who is currently camped out on my stoop. She is NOT feral, lovable and needs a good home. And look at that FACE:

More details and photos on the craigslist posting. Leave me a comment here or email me via craigslist for more details or to adopt her!

I love cats and would take her in, but I have two kitties in an already small apartment - three felines is sadly not an option.

I am going to x-post this all over the place - so apologies in advance for folks who belong to a lot of NYC communities. :)

Hey, New Yorkers. The way I see it, we've got loud mouths and big hearts. And unfortunately, it seems that most of us have experienced a friend or loved one's struggle with some form of cancer. If you'd like to help fight, read on.
The Dogswalk Against Cancer allows people to raise money to support the lifesaving research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs of the American Cancer Society. I hope you will join me in this effort by:
Donating Directly
Donating goods: If you own or work for a company that can donate grab-bag items (3 or 300- every little bit helps) all you have to do is drop them off at the American Cancer Society in Midtown East, and we'll take care of the rest. You will receive recognition at the walk, a tax deduction on your materials, and lots and lots of gratitude. Comment if you'd like more details.

Thank you in advance for any support you can provide, and thanks mods for allowing this post!

Can anyone recommend a bird sitter who can either stay at the house or let me bring the birds to theirs? they are both very quiet and enjoy sleeping most of the day.

PETCO has given away my pet, which they were keeping on hold until I could get her a large enough cage (four days.)

They have the contact information of the person they gave her to, but refuse to contact him.

Instead, they have offered me gift certificates and an offer to ‘pick any animal you want.’

PETCO does not care about their animals.

PETCO does not care about their customers.

If you disagree with what PETCO has done, please contact

86th Street Store Manager Hector Bergullo at 212-831-8001

Or please take five minutes of your time to go to www.petco.com and fill out a complaint form to the company.

The pet was an Albino female rat promised to me Monday December 4th, to be picked up Thursday December 7th, but given away Wednesday December 6th.

I am absolutely devastated. If you know the person who has her please contact me at stolentalbinorat@yahoo.com

Please repost if you see this message online.

So my cat has feline diabetes and I am poor as hell. However, I want to get from NYC to Boston on wednesday before thanksgiving even though I have to give her 2 injections each day. I am between the following - please share any advice!:

1.flying (Does US Airways allow cats? - They look cheapest!)
2.trying to rent a car (My boyfriend and I are over 25 and he has a NYC drivers license - we live in the Bronx near the 1) Any suggestions?
3.trying to find some other mode of transportation that will let me take my cat - any thoughts?
4.boarding the cat, but then I have to trust someone else to give her injections and pay through the nose - any suggestions on cheap but reliable places near the one train?

thanks for the help!

1. My cat has urinated right outside her box the past 4 days in a row. She sometimes has done this, but not this often consecutively. Two days she peed outside her box but defacated inside her box. The other two days she peed once in the box, defacated a few times in the box, and then peed outside her box too. Does this seem like a health problem or just my cat being mean? (In the sense that she sometimes pees outside her box and then doesn't do it again for weeks!)

2. If this seems like a health problem, can you recommend any cheap vet/cat places that are open weekends, cheap, and near the one train - preferably around riverdale/bronx? Thanks!

Can someone please recommend a reputable dog groomer who a) obviously cares about the animal he/she's caring for and b) does not keep the animal for hours on end? Preferably someone on the Upper East Side?

Anyone have any recommendations on places in Brooklyn, New York to board two medium size dogs that doesn't cost an arm & a leg and will let them spend a lot of time not in a crate?
